As part of the mellifera – echoes of travels in new territories it was necessary to connect data from Second Life (and later OpenSim) to Unity. Rather than spend too much of the valuable development time fiddling around with php backends, I decided to run with pachube as a mediator for our data. What follows is the LSL code, commented so it should be fairly self explanatory. the following script is for outbound traffic only and works in both Second Life and OpenSim.
a project developed for the odyssey ‘Open Rez street art project’. street-walker and street-talker will interact with visitors to odyssey’s southern plaza and try to learn to communicate with each other, by listening to, and imitating these visitors. by taking this opportunity to allow these objects to interact through the month of october, and through close observation of their behaviors, and visitors reaction to them, it is anticipated that subsequent generations of these objects can be developed with increasing complexity, and autonomy.

the palace maze is a continually changing work in progress. it started out in the very first palace of memory in hyland, and is a site that is primarily navigated and experienced through audio. the origins of this work lie in my experimentations with the unreal runtime engine, which i expect can be seen in the visual element of the work. this project is not always up, but when it is can be experienced through a link at the palace of memory’s teleport point.

an open invitation is extended to all interested parties to pay tribute by the tomb of “Nonnatus of Tirisfal Glades”, who despite being devoted to the cause of our lady Sylvanas never did make it past level 45. despite this, a greater warlock there never was, as Nonnatus did find a means to open a portal from the lands of Azeroth to the Lands of Second Life. these efforts were his last – his dying words were whispered to his namesake, upon whose land his body now rests.

nonnatus nikolaidis was the second nonnatus to hit second life, on the 18th of april 2007. this time equipped with faster internet and a better graphics card. his dream was to create a tail empire, crafting and selling tails. nonnatus korhonen wears one of his tails to this very day. in many ways nonnatus korhonen is the true second coming of nonnatus nikolaidis. nikolaidis was however always a little more cheeky than korhonen would ever dare to be. nonnatus nikolaidis can to this day be found wandering the back roads ...
